About SourceRegister
Why This Exists
If you've ever tried to find a battery storage integrator in Finland, or a hydrogen electrolyzer supplier in France, you know the problem: the data is scattered across dozens of government registers, industry associations, and trade directories — each in a different language, with a different data format, and varying levels of completeness.
SourceRegister consolidates verified company data from official European business registers and public industry databases into structured, searchable directories. We cover four industrial sectors across six European markets, with 17,520 companies indexed as of 15 Mar 2026.
The project started in early 2024 as a data experiment: how much of the European industrial supplier landscape could be mapped using only publicly available, official data sources? The answer turned out to be "quite a lot."
Who
SourceRegister is built and maintained by Richard Sandenskog, based in Stockholm, Sweden. Background in software engineering and data systems.
No venture capital. No advisory board. No "team of 50." One person writing code, running scrapers, and verifying data. This is intentional — it keeps the incentives simple: the directory is useful or it isn't.
Data Sources & Methodology
Every company in SourceRegister traces to at least one official, public data source. We do not accept self-submitted listings (yet), and we do not fabricate or infer company data.

Data is refreshed periodically. Each listing page shows its original source and a data verification hash. We verify company registration numbers against official registers where available.
